What I Think

Posts Tagged ‘operating system

You want to delete a file or a folder and you are greeted by the words Access Denied, you don’t even know why access is denied and which program is using the file and deleting such file is really a headache.

Not anymore Windows 7 tells you which program is using the file so that you can do whatever is necessary, now at least you don’t have to resort to cruse means to delete a file. this tells me that Windows 7 is moving along in the right direction and is going to be the best operating system ever.

Cheers!!!

But for the office, Evolution provides all the calendering, contacts and full function office email you need. Pidgin IM also puts you in instant touch with colleagues and integrates with your personal IM services simply and easily.

Browsing: Includes Mozilla’s Firefox 3 as the default browser. Faster, safer and themed browsing for users.

Office applications: Word processing, spreadsheets and presentations can all be delivered through Open Office. And, they completely integrate with the proprietary office applications out there. The big difference is that they are free.

Accessibility: At the core of the Ubuntu philosophy is the belief that computing is for everyone and access should be free and complete whatever your economic or physical circumstances. Ubuntu is one of the most accessible desktop operating systems around.

According to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer a new operating system named Windows Cloud is going to be launched as early as next month. Windows Cloud is a separate project from Windows 7, the operating system that Microsoft is developing to succeed Windows Vista.

Windows Cloud is intended for developers writing cloud-computing applications. It would be used to make web applications along the lines of Gmail, Hotmail, Zoho Office, or Windows Live Maps. Why an operating system is needed to create Cloud computing applications is still unknown. Hopefully Steve Ballmer will have answers but we’ll have to wait for that.
