Firefox’s Private mode comes to Minefield built

Posted on: November 6, 2008

The beta has not been released yet but if you want to test the Private mode in Firefox you can do it with the latest nightly built.

To enable the feature, click the tools menu and then click private browsing to enable it. Confirm it restart the browser and you are on.

With private browsing enabled your browsing, search, form, and download history will not be saved, nor will cookies or temporary files. Any new downloaded files or bookmarks will be retained.

[UPDATE 1:12 pm IST] Tab-Preview

Instead of displaying a list of each of your opened tabs by title when you click the tab list drop down to the right of the tab bar, you’ll be given a  tab preview panel displaying thumbnails of each tabs. From there, you can search the titles for as-you-type filtering of results, click on any thumbnail, and tab through the results. (I’m concerned about memory usage. )

Man! Even I am concerned about storage space. This is so cool. And the tab preview is one of the coolest features I’ve ever seen!
