Firefox’s latest JavaScript engine is faster than any other browsers. TraceMonkey is currently not enabled in Firefox by default. See this post for enabling TraceMonkey in Firefox 3.1 beta (s) – Firefox 3.1 Beta 2.

One question is how much faster is IE8 now that the RC has been released?

(the IE8 RC is in Windows7 beta1 but not released as a separate download yet).

Microsoft needs a javascript compiler to make big gains.

@ecards IE8 is available for WIndows Xp as well as vista too but itn’t any faster than Firefox or Chrome.

Microsoft will let IE just be slow and bad unless other browsers’ usage go upto 50%, I think.
