Google Adds in Yahoo!

Posted on: June 13, 2008

At first Google was the default search enging for yahoo before it started it’s search engine and realised that money could be made from adds. But by then Google had become the search leader and nothing could beat them. After the Microsoft buying Yahoo [thing!!].. Yahoo agreed to display Google adds in their search results.. rather than being acquired by Microsoft. After testing the adds for 2 weeks Yahoo is extermily satisfied with the results and have gone into partnership with google .. Here are the details —

  • The deal is non-exclusive. Yahoo will be able to run Google ads alongside Yahoo ads or other ad providers.
  • The deal is expected to add $800 million a year in revenues and $250 million to $450 million in operating cash flow.
  • The deal only applies to paid search and contextual ads, not to algorithmic search.
