Google has added a layer to Google Earth which lets you read news pertaining to any region. Google Earth that displays latest news stories from the New York Times for any geographic region in the world. Search for an address and you should see some small New York Times logos that hide previews from recent news articles. It is the most up-to-date layer from Google Earth, updating every 15 minutes.

Yahoo! Newsglobe too is a similar service.
