Back to one of my favorite topics – cloud storage. There are a lot like Dropbox, Skydrive, box.net, eSnips, MediaMax, OmniDrive, openomy, Xdrive, ElephantDrive and nomadrive. But Humyo has surpassed all of them by providing 30 GB free online space, but there is a catch – you can store only 5GB worth documents rest 25 GB is reserved for media files..pictures, movies, songs…I don’t think it’ll be a problem since we mostly have media files. But if you want to store any type of file without any limit then you can sign up for a premium account, for $5 per month, which gives you 100GB that you can use to store any type of file.
Once uploaded, files are organized in Humyo’s user-friendly interface, which identifies filetypes and even organizes media by metadata (e.g., music can be sorted through by artist, album, etc.) (which really blew my mind)
Humyo offers a Windows client that maps a network drive directly to your Humyo account for drag-and-drop uploads and downloads. This drive is not free.
To use humyo’s impressive new mobile service all you need is a phone with a colour screen, a data connection and a WAP/Web browser – this means most phones purchased in the last 2 years. To stream videos your phone should support video in the 3GP format and streaming over the RTSP protocol.
humyo will then automatically detect the capabilities of your phone and send media to it in exactly the correct size and format.
